Bak kut teh is a pork rib dish cooked with various herbs and popularly served within the Chinese community of Malaysia. The dish may also include other ingredients such as offal, mushrooms, vegetables, meat balls and tofu.
The origin of bak kut teh is unclear, but it is believed to have been brought over from Fujian, China. In Malaysia, the dish is popularly associated with Klang, where the locals believe it to be the place of origin of bak kut teh. Penang, of course have its fair share of popularity of bak kut teh.
