Story of the Street
Lebuh Ah Quee is named after Kapitan China Chung Keng Kwee. It was presented by the Kapitan to the Municipality of George Town as to create the street, the Kapitan, who was also known as Ah Quee, had his shophouse fronting Beach Street demolished.
It is also known as Lorong Takia in Malay as it run through a small Malay village called Kampung Takia.
